A DC Love Story

On November 17, 2021, Amanda and Ronnie will join with family and friends to renew their vows after 16 years of marriage.

Amanda and Ronnie first met while working at the same company in 2004. At the time, Amanda was Ronnie’s boss and they were both going through painful divorces. They became friends and were a support to each other. A year later, the company ended up going out of business and Amanda and Ronnie decided to give dating a shot. Turns out, they were perfect for each other. The couple dated for 8 months, got engaged and were married 3 months later.

In addition to the 5 children they brought to their new marriage, Amanda and Ronnie went on to have 3 kids together, including twins, who are just 7 years old.

About a year and a half ago, Amanda’s doctor noticed some concerning results on a routine blood panel that showed elevated liver numbers. As a precaution, Amanda underwent a series of liver tests, a biopsy and a colonoscopy. Sadly, the tests revealed a large mass in her colon that had likely been present for years. She was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer that had spread to her liver. She has been undergoing a rigorous chemotherapy regiment in hopes of stopping the spread of her cancer, while allowing her body to get strong enough to withstand a surgery to remove the mass.

We have loved getting to know this sweet couple and cannot wait to grant their wish for a vow renewal. Amanda and Ronnie were originally married at the justice of the peace and are so excited to finally have a real wedding.

We’ve brought on board an incredible planner in Tracie Simon of LeFeast and are so excited to see it all unfold.
