A Willamette Valley Love Story

On Dec 9, 2021, Sam and Jayce will stand before family and loved ones to renew their wedding vows.

Sam and Jayce technically first met in high school. They were aware of each other but had separate friends groups and did not interact much. It wasn’t until after they had graduated and were both standing in friend’s wedding that they connected. As fate would have it, they were chosen to walk down the aisle together. After the wedding, Jayce reached out to Sam and the two started hanging out and quickly became great friends.

Despite an undeniable attraction to one another, Sam and Jayce went on to date other people but remained good friends. When Sam called to vent about her recent break up, Jayce jumped at the opportunity to tell her that he thought they should be together. And the rest is history. Sam and Jayce began dating and were married five years later in 2015 - and were blessed with a honeymoon baby.

When the couple’s son was just two years old, Sam found a lump on her breast. She didn’t think much of it but decided to have it checked out to be safe. Sadly, Sam was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductile carcinoma. She underwent chemotherapy and a double mastectomy and was thrilled to learn that she was cancer free.

Two years later, Sam started experiencing some unexplained back pain, coupled with some gall bladder issues. She scheduled a visit with her primary care doctor, who ordered an ultrasound.  The tests revealed the worst. Sam’s cancer had spread to her liver and her lungs. She had surgery to have her gall bladder removed, followed by radiation and more chemotherapy.

Despite so much pain and sadness, Sam has an incredible spirit and is fighting hard for her little family.

We were so glad to meet Sam and Jayce and have been touched by their beautiful story. We found a new friend in Kara Sinclair of Enchanted Events PDX and are so excited to see what she has in store for our couple.
