On February 17, 2022, Sara and Felix gathered with loved ones to renew their vows on a beautiful, sun-soaked, southern California day.

Sara and Felix have a storybook love story. They met more than 20 years ago in a Yahoo chat room – she was a 15-year-old high school student living in Rural Kansas, he – a 20-year-old in south central LA. They hit it off immediately and soon became great friends, chatting online, sending each other mail and talking on the phone. After getting to know each other for about a year, Sara convinced her mom to take her to LA to meet Felix. It was love at first sight.

After graduation, Sara moved to Los Angeles to attend college at USC. They remained together throughout college and were married the day after graduation. Over the next few years, Sara and Felix worked hard on pursuing their careers and started a family.

In December of 2018, Sara started experiencing some concerning stomach issues. After multiple trips to the doctors and numerous tests, she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that had spread to her liver and her abdomen.

Sara has endured more in the past few years than any young, vibrant person should. Despite painful surgeries, difficult treatments and brutal side effects, Sara has not lost her spark for life and her love for Felix has only deepened.

We were honored to grant this wish for Sara and Felix and were humbled by the outpouring of love from our incredible team. Claudia Terrazas of Time with Terrazas worked incredibly hard to create this gorgeous day for our couples. From the quaint, romantic venue to the vibrant florals, delicious cuisine and extra special details (hello gourmet coffee station!), Sara and Felix enjoyed a day full of hugs, laughs and epic dance moves.
