A Portland Wish
On Dec 9, 2021, Sam and Jayce gathered with their loves ones at St.Josef’s winery in Canby, OR to renew their vows and to pay homage to a love story that has weathered its fair share of storms.
Sam and Jayce first met in high school but didn’t really know each other that well. It wasn’t until after graduation that they connected at a mutual friend’s wedding. Jayce reached out to Sam after the wedding and the two started hanging out, quickly became great friends and eventually soul mates.
In 2017, Sam found a lump on her breast. She didn’t think much of it but decided to have it checked out to be safe. Sadly, she was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductile carcinoma. She underwent chemotherapy and a double mastectomy and was pronounced cancer free.
Two years later, Sam started experiencing some unexplained back pain, coupled with gall bladder issues. She scheduled a visit with her primary care doctor, who ordered an ultrasound. The tests revealed the worst. Sam’s cancer had spread to her liver and her lungs. She had surgery to have her gall bladder removed, followed by radiation and more chemotherapy.
We were honored to have been able to grant Sam and Jayce’s wish for a vow renewal and were thrilled with the special day that our wish granters blessed them with.
An Oregon Love Story
On June 23, 2022, Margaret and Matt will gather with their nearest and dearest to renew their vows and to celebrate 20 beautiful years of marriage.
This sweet couple first met in 1999 while attending a graduate school program in TX for teaching the deaf. Matt is a member of the deaf community and Margaret studied American Sign Language in her undergraduate program. The two hit it off immediately and began dating. They were married in 2002 and began identifying a city to settle down in. They decided on the Portland region where Matt’s family lived and found jobs and started a family.
Three years ago, Margaret’s doctor found a lump in her breast during a routine mammogram. After further testing, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent an aggressive treatment schedule which included a mastectomy, a surgery to have her ovaries removed, chemotherapy and radiation.
In October of 2021, Margaret’s doctors discovered a large, cancerous tumor in her sacrum. Unfortunately, the tumor cannot be removed and Margaret has been enduring radiation and hormone therapy in hopes of shrinking it and preventing the spread of her cancer.
We’ve been blessed to meet this beautiful couple on this hard road that they are walking and cannot wait to help them renew their vows.
A Willamette Valley Love Story
On Dec 9, 2021, Sam and Jayce will stand before family and loved ones to renew their wedding vows.
Sam and Jayce technically first met in high school. They were aware of each other but had separate friends groups, so did not interact. It wasn’t until after they had graduated and were both standing in friend’s wedding that they connected.
Sam and Jayce were married in 2015 and went on to have a sweet little boy. When the couple’s son was just two years old, Sam found a lump on her breast. She didn’t think much of it but decided to have it checked out to be safe. Sadly, Sam was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductile carcinoma. Two years later, Sam’s cancer had spread to her liver and her lungs.
We loved meeting this sweet couple and cannot wait to grant their special wish for a vow renewal.
