On Tuesday, July 30, 2019, Courtney and Theresa (Tess) gathered before their nearest and dearest to say “I do” and to pledge their lives to one another in marriage. For this sweet couple, the day marked the perfect opportunity to celebrate a love that has seen its share of joy and pain.

Courtney and Tess first met online just over five years ago. After writing long distance letters to each other for months, they decided to meet in person. Tess made the trip from Ohio to Wisconsin and the two immediately hit it off. It went so well in fact that she decided to stay – for good.

After living in Wisconsin for a few years, the two moved back to Ohio. Around this time, Tess begun experiencing some troubling health problems. During a hospitalization for a bout of very painful kidney stones, a routine CT scan revealed some concerning nodules on her lungs. She immediately underwent a battery of other tests, including a mammogram. The results were devastating. Tess was diagnosed with stage 4 triple positive breast cancer that had spread to her hip.

Since her diagnosis, she has endured an extensive amount of treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Wish Upon a Wedding was so touched by Courtney and Tess’s story and was honored to grant their wish for a wedding.

The day was filled with so much love and light. From the picturesque country side setting, to the gorgeous flowers, delicious food and rocking dance floor, Courtney and Tess were treated to a day they will never forget. Nothing – not even a brief and unexpected rain storm – could stop these beautiful brides from smiling and laughing from start to finish.

We are so incredibly thankful for the amazing wish granters who signed up to spoil us with their amazing talent and huge hearts and simply could not have done it without them.
