A Seattle Vow Renewal

On May 5, 2019, Kerry and Kiernon gathered before family and friends on the grounds of the breathtaking Woodmark hotel to renew their vows and celebrate a love that has endured more than its fair share of heartache.

Just two months into their marriage, nearly 25 years ago, Kerry suddenly collapsed while on the treadmill at the gym. She went into cardiac arrest and was life-flighted to a nearby hospital where she was diagnosed with a life- threatening heart condition.

Despite being told that they would not be able to have children, Kerry and Kiernon found a doctor who was willing to let them try. They went on to have three sons in the span of three years and then a daughter, seven years later.

While her children were young, Kerry was able to manage her heart condition fairly well, until she had her second major heart episode – 18 years after the first one. She then had another episode six months later and continued to have them as her condition worsened. She was put on a list to receive a new heart and got the call in September of 2017. During Kerry’s surgery, she suffered major complications and ended up having a very debilitating stroke.

The road to recovery has not been easy at all, but thanks to the support of Kiernon and her children, Kathy has been steadily improving. We loved hearing this inspiring story and were honored to grant them this wish for a well-deserved vow renewal.

We were fortunate to bring on an incredible team of wish granters, led by the highly creative crew at Little Wedding Blush who went above and beyond with all of the special details. For a city who always gets a bad rap for weather, the day could not have been more perfect for a seaside, Seattle brunch wedding.

From the brilliant sunshine, to the regal, jewel-toned themed, gorgeous flowers, delicious cuisine, over-the-top sweet treats (cake, ice cream AND donuts!), and playful photobooth, Kerry and Kiernon were treated to a day they won’t soon forget. They mingled and laughed with dear friends, enjoyed touching speeches from their children and basked in the love that they were so lucky to find all of those years ago.

We simply could not do what we do without our wish granters. Thank you to this fine group of creative, fun-loving and generous folks:
