They Still Do in Lexington

On February 7, 2019, Deborah and Greg gathered with family and friends to re-new their vows after 25 beautiful years of marriage. For the sweet couple, who first met as teenagers at their local pizza parlor, the day was wonderful reminder of all that they had conquered together throughout the past two decades.

Following their wedding in 1993, Deborah and Greg embarked upon an exciting life of travel as a result of Greg’s career in the railroad industry. Along the way, they welcomed two beautiful daughters, who are now both in college.

Six years ago, Deborah found a lump in her breast. Having worked in a doctor’s office, she knew to be proactive and immediately have it checked out. Sadly, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a rigorous treatment program that included a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and 33 rounds of radiation. One year later, the cancer returned and had metastasized to her uterus. She endured an invasive surgery and was doing fairly well until the cancer spread to her hip this past year. Despite fatigue and frequent pain, Deborah and Greg are trying to remain positive and upbeat and to spend time their days enjoying their family and the great love they have for each other.

From start to finish, the day was straight out of a fairy tale. From the rustic, brick backdrop at the Barrel House, to the breathtaking flowers, decadent cake and perfect pink accents, Deborah and Greg did not stop smiling and had a ball dining, dancing and mingling with friends.

We loved hearing this precious love story and we’re thrilled to grant their wish for a vow renewal. We lined up an incredible team in Lexington who worked their magic and gave Deborah and Greg a day they’ll never forget.
