A Long Beach Love Story
On August 24, 2022, Ruth and Jason will gather with friends and family to renew their vows and to pay tribute to a love story that has persevered through sickness and trial.
In 2017, Ruth discovered a lump in her breast while nursing her son. She had it checked out by her doctor and underwent a mammogram and ultrasound. Surprisingly, she was diagnosed with stage 2 B breast cancer. She was only 38 at the time. Ruth underwent a single mastectomy and was able to go into remission.
Two years later, however, Ruthโs cancer metastasized and is now in her lungs, brain, bones, and left breast. Sheโs undergone extensive chemotherapy and radiation and is fighting with all that she has for her sweet little family.
A Staten Island Love Story
On August 14, 2022, Michelle and Andrew will join with family and dear friends to unite their lives in marriage.
Michelle and Andrew first met just over three years ago at a local deli in their neighborhood. They hit it off and were engaged a year later.
This past February, Andrew suffered a debilitating headache, coupled with violent vomiting. He went to the emergency room, where he underwent a cat scan. He was sadly diagnosed with a rare and fast-growing form of brain cancer. Heโs been undergoing intense treatment and is fighting for his life, with Michelle by his side.
Weโve been touched by this beautiful love story and are honored to grant them their wish for a wedding.
A Port St. Lucie Love Story
On June 27, 2022, Amy and Bryan will stand before their loved ones to renew their vows and to honor a love story that has stood firm in the face of overwhelming sickness and struggle.
For years, Bryan has struggled with heartburn. Heโs tried to control it but overtime, it intensified. In March of 2021, he started vomiting up blood. He went to the ER and underwent a series of tests. The results were devastating. He had been diagnosed with an advanced form of esophageal cancer that had spread to his lymph nodes and liver. Bryan immediately began an aggressive treatment plan, traveling back and forth to Houston to see his specialist. Unfortunately, his condition has advanced, and he is fighting desperately for his sweet family.
An Oregon Love Story
On June 23, 2022, Margaret and Matt will gather with their nearest and dearest to renew their vows and to celebrate 20 beautiful years of marriage.
This sweet couple first met in 1999 while attending a graduate school program in TX for teaching the deaf. Matt is a member of the deaf community and Margaret studied American Sign Language in her undergraduate program. The two hit it off immediately and began dating. They were married in 2002 and began identifying a city to settle down in. They decided on the Portland region where Mattโs family lived and found jobs and started a family.
Three years ago, Margaretโs doctor found a lump in her breast during a routine mammogram. After further testing, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent an aggressive treatment schedule which included a mastectomy, a surgery to have her ovaries removed, chemotherapy and radiation.
In October of 2021, Margaretโs doctors discovered a large, cancerous tumor in her sacrum. Unfortunately, the tumor cannot be removed and Margaret has been enduring radiation and hormone therapy in hopes of shrinking it and preventing the spread of her cancer.
Weโve been blessed to meet this beautiful couple on this hard road that they are walking and cannot wait to help them renew their vows.
A Michigan Love Story
On June 14th 2022, Christy and Brandon will gather with loved ones to renew their vows and to celebrate more than ten years of marriage.
Christy and Brandon like to say that music brought them together. They first met in 2003 at a party that Brandon was hosting and DJโing at his home. Although they were both married to other people at the time, they quickly became friends. Six years later, they were both divorced and decided to try dating. Sparks flew immediately and they were married two years later.
This past summer, Brandon started having trouble taking deep breaths. He works construction for his job and assumed that he had pulled a muscle or something. As his symptoms progressed, he decided to go get checked out by his doctor. A scan revealed a large amount of fluid in his lung. After further testing, he learned that the fluid was cancerous and that it had spread to his lymph nodes.
Weโve loved meeting this outgoing, spunky couple and are excited to help them renew their vows.
A Tampa Love Story
On October 27, 2022, Lucy and Jason will join with dear friends and family to renew their vows and celebrate a love that has been persevering through sickness and struggle.
Lucy and Jason first met in 2013. Lucy had been working at an allergy office while perusing a graduate degree and Jason was a patient of the office. Despite several attempts to ask her out, she politely declined, because of his relationship with her office. Not long after she stopped working at the office, she got a random knock on her door. It was Jason. He had tracked her down and wanted to take her to lunch. The two went out that day and have been together ever since.
In 2019, Lucy found a nodule in her armpit. She immediately had it checked out but was told that it was nothing to worry about. She finally get the testing that she needed and was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She underwent a double mastectomy and aggressive chemotherapy. This past October, the cancer spread to her bones and has now moved into her lungs. Lucy is actively receiving treatment and is fighting hard with her husband and children by her side.
An Akron Love Story
On April 28, 2022, Stacey and Brian will stand before family and friends to renew their vows after 22 years of marriage.
Stacey and Brian first met in 1999. Stacey had recently gotten out of a relationship and was feeling pretty down. Her brother had invited her to come hang out with some of his friends and, despite her mood, she decided to join. As fate would have it, Brian was there that night. After that night, Stacey and Brian were inseparable. They fell in love quickly and were married 10 months later.
In 2020 when Stacey started experiencing some significant digestive issues, coupled with crippling nausea. She underwent a colonoscopy, which revealed a neuroendocrine tumor in her intestines. Despite her doctor told it was nothing to worry about, Stacey was concerned. She was finally seen by a doctor at the Cleveland Clinic who sadly found cancer in her rectum, ovaries and lungs.
Stacey has endured a series of very difficult surgeries and treatments related to her cancer and struggles daily with pain, fatigue, and normal bodily functions. Through it all though, her spirits are hopeful, and her joy is contagious. Weโre thrilled to have met these cuties and cannot wait to grant their wish for a very special vow renewal.
A Buffalo Love Story
On April 24, 2020, Ashley and Kyle will stand before their family and friends to renew the vows that they first spoke to each other seven years ago.
Ashley and Kyle first met at church in 2013. She had just moved home to Florida after living in Savannah, GA and he asked her out to lunch the first day that she was back at church. She accepted and a simple lunch turned into forever. They were married in 2015 and embarked upon a series of moves with Kyleโs job with the Coast Guard.
She had this lump checked out before but was always told that it was nothing to worry about it. However, a mammogram revealed something different and quite concerning. She was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer than head spread to her lymph nodes.
We simply adore this kind, beautiful couple and thrilled to help them celebrate their love story. We found a wonderful new friend in MaryKate of Lovely Lemon Events and are tickled with the wonderful team that she has assembled.
A Mesa, AZ Love Story
On March 27, 2022, Sheila and Tom will stand before family and friends to renew their vows after 30 years of marriage.
Sheila and Tom have known each other since they were children growing up at the same summer family camp. It wasnโt until Sheila was 21 and Tom was 25 that things changed. They were both back at family camp for another week and Sheila offered to drive Tom home at the end of the week. They hit it off immediately and were married just 6 months later.
In 2006, when her oldest was 11 years old and the two youngest were just three, Sheila was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Unfortunately, in 2016 her cancer metastasized to her skull and bones, 10 years after her initial diagnosis. Sheila underwent an incredibly complicated 15-hour craniectomy and is currently back on chemotherapy.
We love this sweet couple and their beautiful story and are thrilled to grant their wish for a 30th wedding anniversary vow renewal.
A Long Island City Wish
On March 21, 2022, Eunice and Ricardo will stand before loved ones to renew their vows and to celebrate a love that has persevered in the face of sickness and loss.
Eunice and Ricardo met on a dating website before dating websites were a thing. At the time, Eunice, who was only 17 and living in Chicago, began chatting with a young man named Ricardo, who was 22 and living in New York City. They were friends for 8 years before dating and falling in love.
In 2017, Ricardo began having some issues with his stomach. While many of his symptoms could be easily explained away, his condition continued to progress. Eventually, he sought the advice of a doctor. A test revealed that he had a blockage in his bowels. They were able to put a stint in, but an MRI showed a tumor in his pancreas. Sadly, he was given the devasting diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
Despite the overwhelming pain and suffering that Eunice and Ricardo have experienced in the last four years, their love remains as strong as ever. We fell for this beautiful couple and are honored to help them renew their vows.
