An Akron wish
On April 28, 2022, Stacey and Brian gathered with their family and friends to renew their vows and to celebrate more than twenty years of marriage.
3 years ago, Stacey started experiencing some significant digestive issues, coupled with crippling nausea. While she was initially diagnosed with appendicitis, she knew something else was terribly wrong and was persistent in asking for more extensive testing. She eventually underwent a colonoscopy, which revealed a neuroendocrine tumor in her intestines. Sadly, she was diagnosed with cancer in her rectum, ovaries and lungs.
Stacey has endured a series of very difficult surgeries and treatments related to her cancer and has struggled tremendously. We loved meeting this beautiful couple and were honored to grant their wish for a vow renewal.
An Akron Love Story
On April 28, 2022, Stacey and Brian will stand before family and friends to renew their vows after 22 years of marriage.
Stacey and Brian first met in 1999. Stacey had recently gotten out of a relationship and was feeling pretty down. Her brother had invited her to come hang out with some of his friends and, despite her mood, she decided to join. As fate would have it, Brian was there that night. After that night, Stacey and Brian were inseparable. They fell in love quickly and were married 10 months later.
In 2020 when Stacey started experiencing some significant digestive issues, coupled with crippling nausea. She underwent a colonoscopy, which revealed a neuroendocrine tumor in her intestines. Despite her doctor told it was nothing to worry about, Stacey was concerned. She was finally seen by a doctor at the Cleveland Clinic who sadly found cancer in her rectum, ovaries and lungs.
Stacey has endured a series of very difficult surgeries and treatments related to her cancer and struggles daily with pain, fatigue, and normal bodily functions. Through it all though, her spirits are hopeful, and her joy is contagious. We’re thrilled to have met these cuties and cannot wait to grant their wish for a very special vow renewal.
A Dayton Love Story
On February 20, 2022, Demeshia (Demi) and Tim will stand before their family and friends to renew their vows and to celebrate a love that has triumphed over sickness and heartache.
Demi and Tim first met about 11 years ago through mutual friends. They hit it off immediately and dove head first into a relationship that is still going strong today. The two dated for about five years before saying “I do” in a very small ceremony at the local courthouse.
Demi’s health issues began when she was just 19 years old. A mysterious dark circle appeared on her arm and while her doctor initially didn’t think it was anything to be concerned about, later testing revealed that it was systemic scleroderma. Overtime, Demi’s scleroderma has advanced considerably and has resulted in the amputation of five fingers and one toe, as well as hypertension and blood pressure issues.
We have loved getting to know this beautiful couple and have been touched by the many ways they have loved and cared for each other throughout their years together. We’re honored to grant their wish for a vow renewal and cannot wait to see what our team has in store.
An Ohio Love Story
Courtney and Theresa (Tess) first met online just over five years ago. They wrote to each other for three months before deciding to meet in person. At the time, Courtney lived in Wisconsin, so Tess drove there from OH to meet. The meeting went so well that she decided to stay, for good. After living in Wisconsin for a while, the couple moved back to OH to care for Tess’s ailing mother. It was around that time that Tess began to experience some troubling health problems of her own.
After being hospitalized for a very painful kidney stone just last spring, a CT scan of her kidney revealed nodules on her lungs. Under the advisement of her doctor, Tess underwent some extensive testing, including a mammogram. Sadly, she was diagnosed with stage four triple positive breast cancer that had spread to her bones. She has endured an extensive amount of treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation and continues to fight for her life, with Courtney always by her side. Wish Upon a Wedding has loved getting to know these sweet ladies and cannot wait to grant their life-long wish for a wedding.
