A Southfield, MI Wish
On June 5, 2023, Jenny and Patrick stood before family and friends on a gorgeous summer day to renew their vows at the Pearls Event Center in Southfield, MI.
Throughout the next five years, they struggled to have children. They were finally blessed with a daughter and shortly after, a son. While Jenny was pregnant with her son, she felt a lump in her breast. Because of Covid, she went months without the proper testing. When she finally underwent an ultrasound, the results were devastating. She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer just two weeks before the birth of her son. She was induced, gave birth to her little boy, and immediately underwent surgery and chemotherapy. Her treatment has taken a tremendous toll on her, especially while caring for two little kids and she is facing each day with faith in God and a grateful heart.

On April 27, 2022, Yvette and Tyrone gathered before friends and family at the beautiful Margaritaville Resort to unite their lives in marriage.
Yvette and Tyrone went to high school together but didn’t know each other. It wasn’t until they found themselves in a 20th anniversary reunion group on Facebook that they connected. Yvette was going through a painful divorce and was excited to meet new friends. She sent Tyrone a message and they started talking and hanging out. Although she was struggling with cancer at the time, Tyrone was supportive and empathetic.
In January of 2021, however, Yvette was on a zoom call with her son’s school and suffered a massive seizure. Thankfully, the woman on her zoom called 911 and Yvette was rushed to the hospital. The cancer had returned and had metastasized to her brain. She began an aggressive chemotherapy regiment to try to slow the progression of her disease. In the fall of 2021, Yvette and Tyrone got engaged while on a vacation at the beach. Soon after, they discovered that they were pregnant with their first child. She had to unfortunately stop treatment during her pregnancy and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in July. Yvette is actively fighting her disease, with her family by her side.

Ashley and Kyle first met at church in 2013. She had just moved home to Florida and he asked her out to lunch the first day that she was back at church. She accepted and a simple lunch turned into forever. They were married in 2015 and embarked upon a series of moves with Kyle’s job with the Coast Guard, eventually with two babies in tow.
When their youngest was just ten months old, Ashley decided to get a lump in her breast checked out. She had this lump checked out before but was always told that it was nothing to worry about it. However, a mammogram revealed something different and quite concerning. She was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes.

In 2012, Belva started experiencing some pain in a lump in her breast. She’d had the lump checked out previously and was always told that it was nothing to worry about. Sadly, however, a mammogram and biopsy revealed otherwise. She was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation and was thrilled when she was able to achieve remission. This past October, however, Belva went to the hospital with intense pain. While she initially thought it was a kidney stone, tests revealed the worst. The cancer had spread to her lungs and bones. She is actively receiving treatment and is trying to remain joyful and positive, despite constant fatigue and side effects.
