A North Carolina LOve Story
On November 10, 2022, Nichole and Charles will walk down the aisle at the Blue Heron in Greensboro, NC to renew their vows in front of family and friends.
Nichole and Charles first met in 2013 when Nichole hired Charles to make some bowties for a singing group that she was a part of. While they had some mutual friends, they had never officially met.
Before long, Nichole and Charles developed a deep friendship and Charles became a god father to Nichole’s son, who had sadly lost his father to an accident a few years prior. While Nichole harbored feelings for Charles for years, he was committed to remaining just friends. As time went on, however, he couldn’t help but fall in love. He confessed his feelings to her and they were married at the courthouse a month later.
In November of 2020, Nichole discovered a lump in her breast. Despite multiple mammograms and repeated trips to the doctor, she was told it was nothing to worry about – but she believed otherwise. Finally, a biopsy confirmed the worst. She was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer that had spread to her breast wall. She underwent a rigorous treatment scheduled which included chemotherapy, a mastectomy and now radiation. Despite the intense fatigue that Nichole battles regularly, she remains hopeful, determined, and optimistic.
We loved meeting this upbeat, inspiring couple and are thrilled to help them renew their vows. We brought on board an incredible planner in Isabel Bowen of The Yellow Rose and are so thankful for the remarkable team that she has gathered together for this very special wish.
