On November 3, 2022, Jonathan and Angie will stand before family and friends to renew their vows and to celebrate a love story in the midst of a tragic storm.

Jonathan and Angie first met in 2014 at a family reunion. While they were both in relationships at the time, they soon found themselves single. They were connected through Jonathan’s sister-in-law and began chatting online. While Jonathan lived in Utah and Angie lived in Tennessee, they began talking and FaceTiming constantly and soon became best friends. After several months of corresponding, Jonathan decided to visit Angie – and the rest is history. They moved in together, were married in less than a year and blended their families.

In 2019, the couple moved to Colorado for Angie’s job with the military. Jonathan began working construction on a military base and life was good. Last year, however, he started having pains in his stomach, which he assumed were a result of his physically demanding job. As the pain increased, however, he decided to get checked out. His doctor discovered a large cancerous tumor in his colon. He was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and began an aggressive chemotherapy regiment. This past April, his cancer spread to his liver. Sadly, Jonathan’s body has not been able to handle his chemotherapy and he has been put on palliative care while trying to soak up precious time with his wife and kids.

We were deeply moved by Jonathan’s difficult journey and are honored to help Jonathan and Angie renew their vows. We met a new friend in Lucia O’Connor of Come Join Us Events and are excited to see what she has in store for our wonderful couple.
