On April 13, 2023, Teresa and Emil will gather with friends and family to renew their vows and celebrate 30 beautiful years of marriage.

Teresa and Emil first met in 1990 while they were both students at UCLA. They fell for each other immediately and dated for two years before getting engaged on the beach in Santa Monica. They were married in 1993 and went on to have two beautiful children. The couple spent the next two decades dedicating their lives to their work in the church and raising their children.

In 2020, Teresa went in to have her first colonoscopy. She had been working as a special ed teacher and started experiencing some unexpected depression coupled with weight gain. Sadly, her doctor discovered a very large tumor inside her colon. She was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer that had metastasized to her liver. She underwent a very difficult treatment plan that included multiple surgeries and aggressive chemotherapy. Teresa is currently participating in clinical trial and is doing her best to find joy and hope in each day.

We have simply loved meeting this wonderful couple and are honored to grant their wish for a vow renewal. We’ve teamed up with a wonderful planner in Koral & Ko. and are truly overwhelmed with the generosity of the amazing wish granters that she has secured.
