A San Diego Wedding Wish
On October 12, 2021, Ashley and Billy gathered with friends and family at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club to join their lives in marriage.
Ashley and Billy’s story is a touching one. They first met in 2018 while both volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. They hit it off immediately and dated for two years before getting engaged in 2020.
Ashley has struggled with health issues for her entire life. She was born with Cystic Fibrosis and has battled its many complications for years. In addition to the CF, Ashley has battled Hemachromatosis, a condition that causes the body to absorb too much iron, resulting in a wide variety of life threatening issues. In her early 20’s, Ashley’s lung quality had diminished to the point where she needed to be on constant oxygen.
In 2015, she underwent a complete double lung transplant. She spent a month in the hospital, on and off of a ventilator – and often, clinging to life. While the surgery was successful, Ashley’s Hemachromatosis’s continued to advance, placing her on yet another donor transplant list, this time for a partial liver. Finding a perfect match for “living liver” transplant is very difficult. As fate would have it, Ashley found her perfect match in Billy!
It was an honor meeting Ashley and Billy and granting their wish for a wedding. Our bride stunned in her sleek, gorgeous gown as she and Billy exchanged vows in a beachside ceremony with the waves crashing behind them. We were thrilled to team up with Amanda Crabtree of Spark and Sage Events and loved watching her creativity unfold.
From the beautiful flowers and decor to the delicious cuisine and touching speeches, Ashley and Billy were treated to a day they won’t soon forget.
