A New York Wish - Covid Style

On September 13, 2020, Patty and Jeremy will stand before their loved ones to renew their vows and celebrate a relationship that has spanned more than four decades.

Patty and Jeremy first met as teenagers. Patty’s best friend was going to a concert with Jeremy’s brother and the two decided to tag along. After dancing the night away to Marshall Tucker and the Allman Brothers, the couple accidentally got Patty’s mom’s car stuck in some mud, resulting in the car being towed away – and Patty’s parents becoming very angry. Needless to say, it was not the best ending to a first date. After that night, the couple went their separate ways and only occasionally ran into one another throughout the years.

Sixteen years later, however, they reconnected after Patty ran into Jeremy’s mom at the bank where she worked. They immediately clicked and started dating. They were married two years later and got pregnant for twins on their honeymoon.

The couple spent the next twenty years raising their children and building a life together. When the kids went to college, Patty was looking for a new hobby and took up golfing. She was at a golf event in the summer of 2018 when things took a dramatic turn in their lives. Out of nowhere, Patty started hemorrhaging blood very badly. She was taken to the hospital where she had an emergency DNC, followed by multiple tests. The results were heartbreaking. She was diagnosed with a rare form of carcinoid uterine cancer.

Patty underwent a radical hysterectomy, after which she experienced numerous complications, including a tear in her abdominal wall. She then underwent six weeks of chemotherapy and radiation, followed by brachytherapy. Following her treatments, she was thrilled to learn that she was cancer free. Sadly, her cancer returned just four months later and had moved to her lungs. She is currently back in treatment and doing all that she can to fight hard and stay healthy.

We have loved getting to know Patty and Jeremy and are thrilled to FINALLY be able to grant their wish for a vow renewal. We were incredibly lucky to team up with the fabulous Ali Borone, who, despite the ever-changing COVID restrictions, secured an outstanding team of wish granters. Thank you all, in advance, for your abundant generosity, creativity and kindness. We are so grateful to partner with you to shower Patty and Jeremy will all of the love.

Cheers to our amazing team:
