A Mississippi Wish
On November 14, 2021, Shari and Cornell stood before family and friends on the beautiful grounds of The Dock in Gulfport, MS to exchange wedding vows in a touching, heartfelt ceremony.
Shari and Cornell first met online in 2019. While getting to know one another, they discovered that they both had a lot in common. Both Shari and Cornell were battling cancer. They found comfort `in their shared experiences, soon fell in love and were engaged not long after.
Cornell’s cancer journey began at the end of 2018. He had begun experiencing some troubling digestive issues, which led to shortness of breath and eventually, yellowing of his eyes. It was at this point, that he went to the ER. Scans revealed a concerning mass near his pancreas. A biopsy confirmed the worst. Cornell was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer. He underwent a surgery to implant a stint and a port and endured an aggressive chemotherapy regiment. Sadly, his cancer returned and has now spread to his liver.
This beautiful story has certainly touched our hearts. We were honored to grant Shari and Cornell’s wish for a wedding and were thrilled to bring on Jean McGrury of After the Proposal Events to help us.
