On December 18th 2019, Jill and Chuck will stand before family and friends to profess their love to one another and to renew their wedding vows. For this sweet couple, the day marks an opportunity to celebrate a love that has stood the test the time and has seen it’s fair share of ups and downs.

Jill and Chuck first met 30 years ago while working at Gabe’s retail store. They immediately became friends but did not start dating until a year later, on Jill’s 21st birthday. They got engaged 6 years later and were married on October 24th, 1998. Three years later, they were blessed with a baby girl.

This past spring, Chuck began to have some troubling health problems. He had developed a nagging cough and bone pain that was progressively getting worse. Eventually he started having trouble breathing and went to see a doctor. Chuck got the results of his CT scan the day before his family was scheduled to go on vacation and not wanting to upset anyone before their trip, decided to wait to tell his wife and daughter about his cancer diagnosis until they returned. While on vacation though, he began to have some complications and ended up in the emergency room.

Chuck was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer that had spread to his lungs, liver and bones. He immediately started an aggressive chemotherapy treatment plan, followed by radiation and now hormone therapy. He and Jill are taking life one day at a time and are spending time enjoying their sweet family.

We were so inspired by Jill and Chuck’s story and simply cannot wait to make their dream of a vow renewal come true. We brought on board our dear friend Nicole Fauls of Urban Allure Events and could not be more excited about the all-star crew she lined up.
