FAQ

Q: I have a Wedding Gown and/or other wedding items I would like to donate. How do I do this?

A: Wish Upon a Wedding does not currently accept this type of donation.  Please check out Brides Against Breast Cancer, a nonprofit that hosts bridal gown sales with the purpose of donating the money to cancer research. In the future, WUW may be hosting re-sale events called Twice Loved, where individuals may sell their gowns.

Q: Who is eligible for a Wish?

A: Unmarried applicants who are at least 18 years or older, legal U.S. Citizens, where at least one individual has been diagnosed with less than five years to live are encouraged to apply.

Special Circumstance Wishes are also available for a limited number of couples who have endured serious life-altering circumstances.

A limited number of Vow Renewal Wishes are available to qualifying married couples.

Apply here.

Q: How does someone apply for a Wish?

All applications must be submitted by the potential Wish Recipient online. Click here to apply.

Q: How can I volunteer?

A: If you are in the wedding industry, please visit our Chapter Locations and fill out a short online form to become a Wish Granter.

Those not in the wedding and event industry can also help in many other ways. Click here to see a list of ways to help.

Cash donations are always needed and can be made here.

Q: We are getting married soon, but we already have everything we need. How can I ask my guests to donate to Wish Upon a Wedding, in lieu of giving us gifts? I am also interested in donating to Wish Upon a Wedding in lieu of (or in addition to) our wedding favors. What do you offer?

A: Please consider the many ways you can incorporate charitable giving into your special day. Every purchase made helps us grant Wedding Wishes for couples in need.

Consider buying one of our Wishing Stars. These beautiful pins are shaped like a star and adorned with sparkling teal and chartreuse gems. They make the perfect “Something Blue” gift and can easily be incorporated into any bride’s bouquet. These pins are approximately the size of a dime (17.91 inches), so they can also be used as a men’s tie tack.  Brides who support us also offer them as unique bridesmaids gifts. Purchase here.

By purchasing our In Lieu of Favors bookmarks or tented cards, you’ll be making Wedding Wishes come true. Purchase here. (Available after August 15, 2011)

Our In Lieu of Gifts invitation enclosure cards is an easy way to encourage your guests to give. We’ll ship them to you for free.  Please allow up to six weeks for delivery. (Available after August 15, 2011)

Our Wish Bracelets are becoming a popular wedding favor idea.  In our signature Teal color, these $5 bracelets and complimentary favor cards are a great way to incorporate the act of giving into your event. Purchase here. (Available after August 15, 2011)

For a fun favor or just to show your support, check out our 1 inch round button logo pins, also available for just $5! (available after August 15, 2011)
