Wish Upon a Wedding, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, announces their 50th wedding wish to be granted on Sunday, October 14, 2012 to a military couple in Chicago. Since its inception in 2009, Wish Upon a Wedding has been granting weddings throughout the United States for couples facing terminal illness and other serious life-altering circumstances. The wedding will take place at Chicago Marriott O’Hare.
“The Chicago chapter of Wish Upon a Wedding is honored to be a part of this milestone event,” says Chicago Chapter President Ali Phillips, “We’ve been fortunate enough to touch the lives of 50 deserving couples around the country and that shows how worthwhile and meaningful our organization is to so many people.”
Ashley Little and Brian Pierce met after Brian returned from a nine month tour of duty in Afghanistan as a staff sergeant in the Army National Guard. His deployment left him with life-altering emotional and physical injuries. Ashley, whose mother, grandfather, cousin and several friends have served in the military, fell for Brian after meeting him online, and their relationship quickly became serious.
The couple was engaged on Valentine’s Day this year, and applied to have their Wish granted after learning about the nonprofit online. Wish Upon a Wedding is providing Ashley and Brian with their dream wedding including venue, professional wedding planning, catering, photography, and entertainment, all at no cost to the couple.
