Robby and Lindsay: A North Carolina Love Story

KET_1853

Robby met Lindsay for the first time in 2006 at the local fire department. They were both working in emergency services and became acquaintances, talking anytime they would see each other.

Their paths crossed again in 2011 when Robby ended up teaching part of Lindsay’s paramedic classes. After graduating from the program Lindsay started working for the EMS where she would run into Robby on the job more frequently. Eventually after a few weeks Robby asked Lindsay out on a date. It was this first dinner where they both fell in love.

Robby works for multiple facilities and wears many hats. He works part time as a Critical Care Flight Medic, part time as a paramedic for local events, is on the board of the International Association of Flight and Critical Care Paramedics and teaches at a local community colleges. With this work ethic you would never know that Robby has suffered from renal issues since he was a child. He has undergone three transplant surgeries and all three surgeries have failed. He is currently undergoing dialysis and awaiting a fourth kidney.

“In addition to all of his work stuff that he has to struggle through he still finds the time to come home and make me feel special and loved,” Lindsay said of Robby. He is also a wonderful father to his two boys. Robby and Lindsay love to take family vacations with his two boys in their camper whenever they can.

In 2014 the family took a trip to the botanical gardens. After taking photos and admiring the beautiful flowers Lindsay turned around to see the boys holding signs that said “will you marry us” and Robby holding a beautiful ring. She of course said yes!
