Amber and Richard were married at Cili /Bali Hai Golf Club on April 11th, 2017 surrounded by their closest friends and family. They met through a mutual friend, Amber’s sister. At a party, after a game of cards and great conversation, Amber and Richard exchanged numbers. They were both just looking for a friendship.
Before long their friendship started to blossom into more. “There was a lot of challenging things going on around us and our relationship didn’t feel like work, that was the easy thing,” Said Amber. Richard felt the same and on Amber’s birthday last year, after permission from his sons and Amber’s father, Richard proposed.
Amber had been battling some health issues throughout their relationship but doctors didn’t have any answers or a diagnosis for her. She didn’t let her health stop her as she and Richard flew to Las Vegas to beginning planning their wedding. Unfortunately, upon their return home Amber received news that recent tests revealed cancer in her liver and colon.
The cancer took a back seat on wedding day. Amber’s favorite color purple was showcased throughout the wedding. The couple and Richard’s three sons united families in a sand ceremony with various jars of sand from different locations they had visited.
After having a waterfront ceremony, guests got to enjoy a “cocktail” hour with delicious tray passed mocktails that Amber and Richard named and then went into a plated dinner with guests choosing between three different entrees.
They dined and danced al fresco with views of lush greenery and waterfalls. Their dance floor was packed and their photobooth was a hit! The night ended with a sparkler farewell and smiles all around.
We wish Amber and Richard many more wonderful memories together. Thank you for letting Wish Upon A Wedding be a part of your day!
