A Northern California Love Story: Shannan and David

Shannan and David met through friends on March 30th, 2006 and there was an instant connection. Five days later they had their first date and two months after that David proposed. They married that same year, on October 27th 2006 and now have four wonderful children.

The fight against cancer started in their family when their youngest son was diagnosed at the age of 18 months. Three months after he was stable Shannan was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She suffered a stroke during her treatment that has left her unable to continue her job as an educational interpreter for the deaf. Thankfully, after a hysterectomy, chemo, radiation, and a double mastectomy Shannan is now considered stable. Unfortunately, this year Shannan and David’s son’s cancer has returned. Through all the ups and downs the family remains positive and strong.

After 10 years of marriage, and multiple obstacles Shannan and David’s relationship only continues to grow stronger. They are looking forward to celebrating life and love at their 10 year vow renewal with close friends and family at the beautiful 48 Barn in Visalia, California this Fall.  Wedding Planner Erika from Erika Amalia Event Design & Planning has been instrumental in helping to bring this wish together.
