The Orange County/Los Angeles Chapter of Wish Upon a Wedding is honored to provide the upcoming nuptials of Kelly Haro and Veronica Perez. Kelly and Veronica have been together for 6 years and are both getting married for the first time. They met at work after Veronica first noticed Kelly sitting at a desk and thought he was very handsome. At first, they were just friends, but over time their relationship grew into a romantic one.
They have created a loving and blended family with 2 children each from previous relationships, as well as two boys with each other.
Unfortunately, Kelly, (early 40′s), has been diagnosed with grade 4 brain cancer - GBM-Glioplastoma, caused by an extremely rare mutated gene know as the Li-Fraumeni syndrome, which greatly increases susceptibility to cancer. It runs in his family and has been responsible for the loss of his mother (when he was just 10 years old), his sister, and several other family members. Kelly is no longer able to work and Veronica stays close by his side for love and care.
Doctor’s decided to operate in May, 2012 to try to remove Kelly’s tumor. Following the surgery, Kelly and Veronica were married in a civil proceeding, but were not able to enjoy a wedding ceremony and reception. Unfortunately, surgery could not eliminate the tumor completely and it has grown back to it’s pre-surgery size in less than 6 months. Even though the odds are against him, that doesn’t stop the lengths that this loving family has gone to in order to combat this terrible disease. Kelly, with the help of his community and friends, just returned home from seeking alternative treatment in Germany, in the hopes of controlling the growth of the tumor to extend his life.
Kelly and Veronica’s children keep asking them when they will have a real wedding. The couple wants a wedding celebration so that their children will have a memory to hold in their hearts and minds. Kelly and Veronica will finally have their wedding this weekend, where their children, family and loved ones can be a part of their memorable day.
We hope you enjoy Kelly and Veronica’s engagement photos, taken by the very talented Marianne Lozano. Check back to our blog next week for photos and the story highlighting the wedding and reception.

Hi Prima… I’m so happy you got your wish to marry an amazing man. My prayers are with you always and especially in this difficult time. We hope to see you soon! With love and many hugs from your Family here in San Diego.
I met Kelly Haro when I started working at JP Morgan Chase in April 2012. He was always helpful to me when I had questions. He rode a Harley motorcycle and we would talk about his hobby. He loved department potlucks! My condolences go out to his wife and kids. I no longer work at Chase so I found out about his passing from an ex co-worker.
