“I surprised Angela On Sept.7 2008 and asked her to become my wife. She said yes, which made me the happiest man in the world despite the fact that I was already diagnosed with stage4 colon cancer,” Michael said on his application for a Wish from nonprofit organization Wish Upon a Wedding.
This was the beginning of a long road ahead, but with Wish Upon a Wedding, the stress of getting married became a little bit easier for this special couple. On August 2, 2012 the New Jersey Chapter of Wish Upon a Wedding granted them their dream wedding. The day was spent surrounded by the couple’s closest family and friends in an intimate ceremony with about 30 guests. Michael was able to share some very special moments with his new wife, his parents, and his daughter Sarah.Their relationship shined through on their wedding day as one that was both endearing and strong.
Unfortunately on the evening of their wedding, Michael was taken to the hospital for complications from his illness. He ended up losing his battle with cancer on August 15, 2012, just thirteen days after saying “I do”to Angela. We would like to share some of the day’s very special moments, as caught on film by photographer Janice Celeste of C2 Photography.
