Louise and George share a love for each other that is truly beautiful and inspiring. They met while still in high school and George had made attempts to ask Louise on a date but her family never allowed her to date George. They ended up reconnecting years later and for 23 years have only spent 1 day apart.
Througout Louise’s life she has suffered with a mental illness and it wasn’t until later that she developed Parkinson’s, thyroid Disease, cancer and now incurable lung disease.
George has been her rock and support through all of her medical difficulties and through all of her hospitalizations. Their walls are covered in artwork and crafts that George encourages her to do to keep her mind active and to give her confidence. He lives every day trying to make her happy and often expresses his love for her in poems and notes that he writes her. Louise has a large scrapbook filled with every card, letter and poem that George has written her, a book that spells into words the love they share for each other.
It’s been their dream to get married, in fact they almost did. They took all of the steps to go to city hall and get their marriage license only to come home and receive a call that Louise’s benefits would be lost if she proceeded with the marriage, something they later found to be false but it was too late. Strapped with the financial difficulties associated with her illness and the limitations of her mobility, they lost hope of ever getting married. That was until her hospice care worker contacted Wish Upon A Wedding to get more information and assist Louise and George in submitting for consideration. Every year Louise and George would read to each other vows that they wrote and now plan to read them to each other on their wedding day!

Hi Debi, Thank you so much for offering to get involved. The wedding is actually on Monday so we are all pretty set for things but we’ll definitely keep you in our database for the next wedding wish we grant!
Is this wedding in the Philadelphia are? Do they have hair and makeup for the bride? I would love to do this for them even though it is late notice I am the owner of my salon and have signed up previously with wish upon a wedding. I would personally come out tomorrow and do this for you…
