Q: What is BID YOUR WISH FOR WEDDED BLISS?
A: Bid Your Wish for Wedded Bliss is a luxury online charity wedding auction, marketed towards engaged couples and wedding professionals. It is a great opportunity for couples about to be married to find high-end wedding related products at a fraction of the cost they would normally pay, with their bid money going to support our charity. It is Wish Upon a Wedding’s annual nationwide fund raiser, intended to raise money so the organization can enhance its existing programs and services.
Q: Who will be bidding on the auction items and how do they retrieve their winnings?
A: Hundreds of engaged couples from coast to coast, as well as wedding industry professionals will be placing their bids to win the donated items. The highest bidder (whoever bids the most money) will win the item, and the service will be provided to that winner by the donor.
Q: What are the auction dates? When will we be allowed to bid?
A: Bidding begins December 20, 2012 and ends February 20, 2013.
Q: When are donations accepted?
A: Donations are accepted NOW through December 15, 2012.
Q: How can I make a donation?

Q: If I make a donation to the auction, will I be granting a Wedding Wish for a WUW couple?
A: No, an auction donation is completely separate from our Wedding Wish granting program. To become a Wish Granter, you need to fill out a Wish Granter application. A donation to the auction is intended to help our organization raise funds to enhance the programs we currently offer to our couples.
Q: I am a donor and want to be sure bidders understand certain restrictions that go along with my auction item How can I do this?
A: While posting your listing on the auction site, be sure to SPECIFY all of the following if applicable:
- specific cities or distances that you cover, or areas you will NOT cover
- travel fees that may apply if you have to leave your typical work area to complete services
- shipping and handling charges for products
- applicable taxes that will be charged
- specific black out dates, or information on how to secure the dates the winner desires
- item expiration date if applicable
- instructions on how the winners will redeem their prize from you
Please be as SPECIFIC as possible to ensure a positive experience for both the bidders AND yourself.
Q: What else will enhance my listing?
A: Don’t forget to list your http://www web address, Logo, full name of business, business address, phone and email contact information in the posting. This way the bidder knows exactly how to reach you- and anyone looking at your auction listing may be a potential customer for you.
Please include photos of your recent work, as well as any awards or accolades your business has received.
If your item will ONLY be available in your region, then use the TITLE of the posting to list your city or location EXAMPLE:
“Chicago Wedding Photography Package”.
Once the auction opens, we encourage bidders to contact the donors BEFORE bidding to get booking and date information from the donor.
