Inspiration to Give {A personal story about becoming a Wish Granter}

My name is Karin Doolin, and myself and my husband Roger are photographers and videographers in the St. Louis area. Last year, I was so excited upon hearing about the local chapter of Wish Upon a Wedding being formed in the St.Louis area.  Previously I had been a part of a wedding day where the bride was terminally ill.  I knew how much Wish Upon a Wedding would have benefited her in so many ways had the organization been in this area at that time. I also knew how beneficial it was going to be to have such an amazing organization in our area.   Nikki encompassed the spirit that Wish Upon a Wedding is all about, and she would have touched your life forever – just as she touched mine and so many others’.

Upon hearing of Wish Upon a Wedding, my immediate reaction was to sign up to be a Wish Granter and to give as much as I possibly could – in Nikki’s honor.  When the call came in from Wish Upon a Wedding to grant a Wish for Lance and Tina, I was elated.  Nikki had passed this winter after her long battle with cancer, and I personally think she had something to do with us being chosen to provide the videography for Lance and Tina’s day.  Lance and Tina have the same spirit and strength that she did, and I know she would be thrilled to see us give them this gift and I know she’s watching and cheering them both on.

I’m so thankful for this opportunity to share Nikki’s story, along with the opportunity to capture Lance & Tina’s story.  I hope that you will take the time to enjoy their inspiration and let them touch your lives like they have touched mine.

    Karin is a dear, dear friend of mine. She and her husband Roger have hearts of gold and she would give you not only the shirt off her back, but her entire closet. That being said, I am not surprised of her generosity. I know Karin feels thankful to be able to capture these moments for these special people and grant their wishes. I pray that all terminally ill brides meet vendors as loving as Karin and Roger Doolin! They truly are the cats meow in my book :)
