Bill and Dolores were married on December 2, 1970. The wedding took place
with just a handful of family and friends and a small reception at Bill’s house.
They always hoped to renew their vows but the celebration was never planned
because the realities of life got in the way. Bill almost died in a car accident.
Dolores was diagnosed with stage 4 metastasis breast cancer in 2008. (See

their video love story: http://vimeo.com/16953807 )

Forty years later on December 2, 2010, they were granted their dream wedding.
They renewed their vows in front of family and friends at the Club at Key Center
in Cleveland. As a nod to Dolores past experience as an antique store owner,
the theme was a vintage and ruby celebration in which antique gold, ruby red
and black were used. The decor included vintage suitcases, books and keys,
complemented by Victorian-style stationery. The cake was trimmed and the
napkins were tied in lace. Favors were antique-styled gold frames; and guests
also got to enjoy a photo booth. Red is one of Dolores’ favorite colors and fittingly
enough, ruby is the the 40th anniversary gem! A Wish Upon a Wedding GOBO
shined above the dance floor as a sweet reminder of the organization which
made the night possible.

The photographs were taken by Andrew Jordan

The couple enjoyed a limo ride with close family to the Marriott Hotel where
they stayed the night before and the night of the wedding. That night, the guests
dined on filet mignon and tilapia provided by The Club at Key Center. Dolores’s
sister Donna sang and brother Bill played the accordion for the processional. The
song was “There I Said It Again.” Their first dance was “I’m Going to Love You a
Little Bit Longer” by their favorite artist, Dr. Hook. It was a stunning evening for
a wonderful couple. We wish them all the best for the future. The Ohio board
members were honored to grant Bill and Dolores’ vow renewal, and would like to
sincerely thank all the vendors who made their day possible.
